Dr Ali Eqani (PhD)

Research Profile

Dr Ali Eqani is serving as Tenured Associate Professor at COMSATS University Islamabad in the area of Environmental Geochemistry/Geo-medical Sciences. Dr Eqani was awarded a doctoral degree from Quaid I Azam University in 2012 and his first postdoctoral fellowship was from IUE, CAS, China (2015-17) and his recent postdoctoral visit to D-lab, MIT, Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA (2022-23). Furthermore, Council of the Pakistan Academy of Sciences has also awarded him PAS Gold Medal 2023, in Earth and Environmental Sciences. He has more than 100 manuscripts (>4500 citation, h-index 34, >500 impact factor) that are published in high-ranked journals (including science magazine). The topics of his research are timely and of importance to Pakistan, supported through excellent national/international funding sources. He also serves as a consultant to various international organizations such as the WHO, FAO, and UNDP. By being active in these organizations, Dr. Eqani spotlight the drinking water issues (like Arsenic, fluoride, and others) of Pakistan at national/international level and also get the national/international authorities to concentrate and help with drinking water related problems in Pakistan.
